Its all about me, Eric Moore

Inspired early on by George Lucas after seeing Star Wars in 1977, I began writing and drawing my own stories. I always loved the classic battle of good vs evil. TV shows like Star Trek, Space 1999, the cartoons Star Blazers, Battle of the Planets and Thundarr enhanced my love of sci-fi

But then one day I began to read the book "The Elfstones of Shannara" by Terry Brooks. I knew then fantasy was my calling. Through the years I read all the Shannara books, then the Dragonlance series. I was also playing Dungeons and Dragon, creating my own adventures

I began to draw characters for adventures, giving them names and histories. Aurora Wishbringer , my image "New Lands" was the first to make the transition from mind to paper. She was also my first 3d character, and subject of first 3d animated short "Trial of the Celtic Rose".

I grew older as most do but never stopped drawing, and writing. I joined the army in 1985, and began to draw soldier characters in armor and high tech gear. After leaving the full time army in 1988, I decided to make art my living. I attended the Center for the media arts in New York City. Learning Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as paste up and advertising design, I was on my way.

I drew a weekly comic for the school newspaper called City Life, dark humor about everyday events in NYC. I was also working in a silkscreen shop as a designer, learning any software I could.

My break came after graduation. I landed a job as an assistant art director doing packaging design. I worked, designed and learned the ins and outs of the print process. A screaming fast Mac was the 33 mhz Quadra 840 AV (audio visual) with 64 megs of ram! I ordered one for my job.

My next break came at the Macworld expo in 1993. I purchased a software package called Poser for 99 dollars and another called Cinemation. With the Quadra AV I began making movies!

After my first taste of 3d with Poser I purchased Strata 3d. Now I was cooking. I was promoted to art director and stayed with the company until it moved to Virginia. I then began freelancing in New York City.

As I freelanced for different companies, I learned more software, Director, After Effects, Premiere and more. I bought my own Mac, a Power Mac 8500 with 96 megs of ram, and began to put together animations.

My next break came when designed the video for the NY Stock exchange. My first broadcast video. Then the video work kept coming along with interactive work using Director.

I soon bought a G4 Mac with 512 megs of ram and started my first 3d fantasy movie, "Trial of the Celtic Rose" A year in the making! Then the Rose Series!

I now do mostly video, web, interactive and 3d work. I still watch Saturday morning cartoons, but create my characters and animations digitally.
